UNSCRIPTED! – Improvised Live Cinema on Saturday @ 7 PM

22nd October, 2015

This Saturday at the Film Group, we’ll be debuting our exciting new improvised live cinema event: UNSCRIPTED! Bringing together the worlds of cinema and live comedy for a special night unlike any other, it’s definitely not one to be missed!

Plus, just in case that wasn’t enough for you, we’ve also got Emily Blunt taking on Mexican hit men in SICARIO, Joaquin Phoenix as an IRRATIONAL MAN, and Robert Redford taking Nick Nolte for A WALK IN THE WOODS.

• Thu 22 Oct @ 7:30 PM: SICARIO

As the war on drugs becomes increasingly deadly, an idealistic FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is sent to the lawless area between the U.S. and Mexican borders to eradicate the cartel responsible for killing members of her team. Also starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.

• Fri 23 Oct @ 7:30 PM: IRRATIONAL MAN + A WALK IN THE WOODS

In Woody Allen’s latest, IRRATIONAL MAN, a tormented philosophy professor (Joaquin Phoenix) finds his life taking a turn for the positive when he becomes romantically involved with both a married teacher (Parker Posey) and a precocious student (Emma Stone).

Then, in A WALK IN THE WOODS (at approx. 9:15 PM), an aging travel writer (Robert Redford) decides to reinvigorate his life by hiking the Appalachian Trail but only one person is willing to accompany him on his journey: an overweight, long lost and former friend (Nick Nolte).

• Sat 24 Oct @ **7 PM**: UNSCRIPTED! – Improvised Live Cinema

When a movie's dialogue track is 'lost' under mysterious circumstances, there's only one thing to do: call in Canberra's best improvisers to create all-new dialogue for the film... live and on the spot!

Our talented performers will have no script – and absolutely no idea what the film is or is about. Only one thing is for certain: anything can (and probably will) happen, so you won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind special event.

Entry into UNSCRIPTED! is free for all current ANUFG members. Our canteen will also be operating as normal. Please note that, due to the improvised nature of its content, the event may contain strong language and may not be suitable for children.
