Win tickets to A CLOCKWORK ORANGE at Palace Electric

4th June, 2013

We kick of the month of June with one of our most eclectic double features, featuring the last of this year’s Best Picture Oscar nominees, as well as a violent take on the Hansel and Gretel tale. Plus, tickets to be won!

• Sat 8 June @ **7 PM**: AMOUR followed by HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS

In AMOUR, the lives of Anne and Georges, an elderly couple, are changed forever when Anne suffers a stroke, which paralyses half of her body. Directed by Michael Haneke, and winner of Best Foreign Language Film at the 2013 Oscars as well as the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Then, in HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS, the siblings from the fairy tale have grown into bounty hunters (Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton) who hunt and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, they encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past.

Palace Electric’s Vintage Electric season of classic films continues into June with films like A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, PSYCHO, SUNSET BOULEVARD and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS each Sunday this month. To celebrate, we’ve got two double passes to give away to this week’s offering of the ultra-violent, critically-acclaimed A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, screening this Sunday (June 9) at 3 PM.

Set in futuristic Britain, the film follows Alex (Malcolm McDowell), a charismatic, sociopathic delinquent, who embarks on a horrific crime spree with his gang of thugs. Before long, he is jailed but volunteers for an experimental aversion therapy programme that changes his life forever.

For your chance to win, simply email us at info@anufg.org.au with your name, membership number, and answer to the following question: ‘Who wrote the novel upon which A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is based?’
