Trivia Night on Friday + Few tickets remaining!

28th August, 2013

In case you’ve been living under a rock (in which case, welcome back!), you’ll no doubt be aware that our seventh annual Trivia Night is THIS FRIDAY!

Preparations are almost complete, prizes are waiting to be given away and fun is just waiting to be had. We’ve nearly packed the venue to full capacity, but we do still have a very limited number of tickets remaining, as a couple of booked tables are just shy of ten people.

So if you (or a small group) wanted to come along but didn’t have a team to join, we might have a (hopefully) winning team for you to join. But you’ll need to be quick -- email us at info@anufg.org.au NOW to secure your spots!

DATE: Friday 30 August
TIME: Doors open at 7 PM for a 7:30 PM start
VENUE: Canberra Club, 45 West Row, Civic

PRICE: $15 a person (for tables of up to 10)

If you’ve already got tickets, then you can start brushing up on your movie knowledge and getting excited! And if you haven’t already checked it out, there’s a whole list of sponsors on our Trivia Night page (www.anufg.org.au/trivia) so you can see what prizes will be up for grabs. You’ll also find the Canberra Club’s menu on the same page, with plenty of delicious food that you can order on the night.

Finally, here’s what’s on this week:

• Wed 28 Aug @ 8 PM: DEAD MAN DOWN

Seeking revenge, a man (Colin Farrell) infiltrates the empire of a criminal kingpin, only to encounter a woman (Noomi Rapace) with plans for her own campaign of vengeance.

• Thu 29 Aug @ 8 PM: PACIFIC RIM

When humanity finds themselves on the verge of defeat in a war against monstrous sea creatures, two unlikely heroes team up to resurrect an obsolete weapon in an effort to save the world. Directed by Guillermo del Toro.

• Fri 30 Aug @ **7:30 PM**: ANNUAL TRIVIA NIGHT

Surprise! There’s no screening this Friday, so you can all attend our Trivia Night. Lucky you…

• Sat 31 Aug @ **7 PM**: BEN-HUR

Films don’t get much more epic than BEN-HUR, our 1950s Retro Revivals feature, which was the first film to win a record-breaking 11 Oscars (including Best Picture) in 1959. In the film, a Jewish prince (Charlton Heston) seeks revenge after being betrayed by a childhood friend and sent into slavery.
