PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF THE KINGDOM OF BELGIUM
Living in rural Belgium, 13-year-old Léo (Eden Dambrine) and Rémi (Gustav De Waele) could not be closer. It seems nothing can come between the two best friends – until they start middle school together and fellow students start to comment upon their closeness. Uneasy with the perception, Léo gradually begins new friendships and take up ice hockey. Rémi, however, is unable to understand his best friend’s rejection and deals with his isolation in a different – and devastating – manner.
Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and nominated for Best International Film at this year’s Oscars, this is an unforgettable portrait of friendship, love and identity.
