When Jason (Todd Armstrong) inadvertently saves the life of his royal father’s usurper, Pelias (Douglas Wilmer), he is encouraged to embark on a quest in search of the mythical Golden Fleece. In doing so, the conniving murderer hopes to thwart the prophecy that Jason will reclaim the throne by ensuring his timely death. Assembling a crew of the finest warriors in Greece, however, Jason faces off all manner of supernatural enemies, before returning to Thessaly to confront his destiny.

Returning to the big screen for its 60th anniversary this year, this timeless fantasy adventure is perhaps best known for its various legendary creatures – including a bronze giant, a seven-headed hydra, winged harpies and a skeleton army – all brought to life by special effects wizard Ray Harryhausen.

After more than two decades, the end of the road for the Fast & Furious saga begins with this penultimate entry. Once again thrown into a globe-trotting adventure, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family find themselves facing off against a threat emerging from the shadows of the past: Dante (Jason Momoa), son of the Brazilian drug kingpin which the crew took out in Fast Five. With Dante determined to destroy everything – and everyone – that Dom loves, the family find themselves scattered, forging new alliances and facing off against old enemies.

With most of the original cast returning, alongside more recent additions including Jason Statham and Charlize Theron, Fast X is action movie soap opera at its most ludicrous, physics-defying finest.
