Joe comes from Iowa to New York and, being short of money, wants to find an apartment with very low rent. His quest is successful, but he must share the residence with some 50,000 cockroaches. The insects turn out to be Joe's best friends and they share in quite a few differing experiences.
That is about all there is plot-wise to the movie. Obviously there are the usual trying to get a date and find true love elements but what movie would be complete without them? But far beyond all of the other elements of the movie lies the reason why you should come to this film, the singing and dancing cockroaches. What else could you expect from MTV? I loved this film and couldn't stop laughing throughout. Any film that can easily include a brilliant song and dance number entitled 'Funky Towel', complete with lighting effects and a water number in the toilet has got to be seen. Critics haven't been too kind to this film but I feel that it is great and something you should definitely see if you just want to watch a fun, light hearted film without any heavy sub-plot.
