This is one of those films which places the sensitive soul in an ethical quandary: does one make disapproving faces at the blatant sexism...or merely sit back and giggle uncontrollably at boys dressing up as girls and doing wild and zany things? The plot is a classic: two guys, Joe (Curtis) and Gerry (Lemmon) witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and join an all-girl band in Miami to hide from the Mob. Lust, deception and gender confusion abound; many people are shot. Despite this, the film is tremendously funny and is not to be missed on the big screen.

This film is an updated and colourful adaption of the Anita Loos novel, which later became a play and Broadway musical. Lorelei Lee (Monroe) and her friend Dorothy Shaw (Russell) are a pair of singers who sail to Europe in search of rich husbands. This film contains the famous tune "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend".
