Pay It Forward is the antidote to reality television. If you hated "Big Brother" you will be delighted by this movie. It's all about overcoming cynicism and investing in generosity to build a better world. From a social science project at a primary school comes the idea of paying one favour forward three times and asking each favour-recipent to do the same. Good will grows expotentially as a result. This flick is filled with creditable uplifting characters that don't induce nausea. Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey in their usual charismatic but real life way were perfect for their roles as 'average' Americans struggling to get by and find hope. It was sold to me as a lightweight evening but I beg to differ especially if you need a good cry and some inspiration. It's also a captioned flick so hearing impaired movie lovers, along with everyone else, can expect to get more than the usual entertainment quota served up by Hollywood.
