Thorny, Mac, Rabbit, Foster and Farva are state troopers who spend their time bludging and playing practical jokes. They are hopeless at their jobs. So if you like the occasional speeding rampage or if you've ever received a parking ticket, you should find out where they work. Unfortunately, they are in Super Troopers - so tough luck!
The gang is having a bit of trouble lately: budget constraints are tight and the existence of their department is up for review. Their arch-rivals, the local police department, would like nothing more than to see them kicked out of town (or at least have them hand in their badges and guns). To add to their problems, one of their own is dating one of the police and a body has just been found - but which side should get the case?
Super Troopers is very much in the vein of the 'teen comedies' of late, running off the success of American Pie and other such classics. The drug and sex jokes are all in there, along with the occasional gross-out. I really don't see how imdb.com can state in its 'If you like this title we also recommend...' section that Super Troopers is at all like American Beauty... but I digress. If you liked the look of the ad for Super Troopers, you'll like the movie.
