To many minds, this is the classic SF comedy. Back to the Future gold-plated the screen reputations of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, respectively playing teenager Marty McFly and cranky, ingenious inventor, Dr. Emmet Brown. Marty's life is out to get him: he is victimised by his teacher, his mother soaks up vodka over dinner, and nobody cares about his troubles - except for his girlfriend, Jennifer (Wells) and the eccentric Doc.
Marty, in 1985, gets caught up in Doc's time-travel experiments in a De Lorean with special extras. 'When this baby hits 88 mile per hour,' as the classic line goes, 'you're gonna see some serious shit.' And serious shit we do see. Marty accidentally lands himself in 1955 - and promptly obstructs the romantic meeting of his own parents. But there's worse to come: his mother, a teen of his own age, falls for Marty. Accompanied by Alan Silvestri's catchy soundtrack, the movie's action sequences are funny, fast, and fantastic. Do you jump off your seat, wet the seat first, or just laugh? It's not an easy choice. If you've already seen this movie, you'll be back. If not, don't miss it.
