For a movie with the combined sultriness of Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas this film has received disappointing reviews. Luis Antonio Vargas (Banderas) falls in love with and desperately pursues (and who wouldn't) femme fatale Julia Russell (Jolie), who leads him astray with her feminine wiles, lies and deceit. Unfortunately, Luis is so desperately passionate in his pursuit that he is confused as to exactly whom he is pursuing, and pursues not only Julia Russell but Bonny Castle as well. Jolie plays both roles so it is easy to appreciate both Luis's confusion and his passion. It is quite possible that director Cristofer simply decided to blow his budget on sirens rather than scriptwriters - and for his choice in sirens I applaud him. Take your other half and you'll both have something to look at.
