Cuddly, likeable slob Jack (radio and D-Generation comic Molloy), who has joined the Cityside Lawn Bowling club just to use the members' car park, finds himself drafted into the Men's Fours to save the ailing and aging club from going under. The reluctant Jack discovers he can smoke and drink beer at 1972 prices in a world where a bloke is your mate and the ladies bring a plate. A good laid-back Aussie chuckler where the laconic meets the colonic, this affectionate film also stars oldies like Bill Hunter teaming up with youngsters, including Judith Lucy, to outwit the takeover plans of Pokies King Bernie Fowler, played with wry relish by the brilliant John Clarke. Watch out for 'The Flipper'.
