In these times of sequel-mania in Hollywood, it's nice to see a movie that actually out-does its predecessor. Final Destination 2 takes the best bits of the original movie, the elaborate death scenes, and makes them the focus of the movie. So, a warning right here: this movie is not for the overly squeamish
As in the original movie, a character has a premonition of a horrific accident (in this case, a highway crash ? which is a very good scene). This character then prevents a number of people from dying in the accident. Afterwards, those who survived are 'stalked by Death' and killed off one by one. This is where the movie really shines. The death scenes are elaborate ? many coincidences building together to cause the death of the person involved; and they are very suspenseful. Some characters, from the moment you know they are about to die, take up to ten minutes of suspense and close calls to do so!
After having just read what I wrote it all sounds rather sick, really. Well, I enjoyed the movie, OK? If that makes it sick then so be it. I'll be enjoying the movie with all the other sickos
