The Macquarie network's Cactus Island commemorated Flynn thus, 50 years after this movie was made, quoting from his autobiography, My Wicked, Wicked Ways

"I was born on 20 June, 1909, in Hobart, which explains why one of my legs is longer than the other. I knew from the start that swashbuckling would be my life, then I discovered my true vocation - women. My big break into the movies came with my Robin Hood role..

(girl) "Er My father is Arthur Hood, the film producer

(Errol) "Ah. May I meet him, Robin?

The legend of Errol Flynn, the Man in Tights, was made

Nowadays, this movie is regarded as one of the best ever made. The screenplay and soundtrack are fantastic (winning Oscars). I invite you to come along and boo the villains and cheer the good guys. That is what it is for

Being pedantic, Robin does not actually adventure anywhere in this movie [No, it's the reviewer who's being pedantic, not Robin - Eds.], but the part of California where it was filmed is called Sherwood Forest today
