Apparently this is not just a good idea for a movie, but it is based on a book! So unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years (mine's nice, with ocean views) you'll know this is the second in the trilogy of films by Peter Jackson, based on Tolkien's trilogy. The Two Towers is a fantastic film. The story goes that the fellowship has broken up and the war is getting closer to the world of men. Frodo and Sam are trying to destroy the ring of power and the rest of the group is rallying parties for a big clash with the forces of darkness.

This is a fantastically well-put together film, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The effects are magnificent (the detail in the battle scenes is amazing) and the characters are perfect. This is the bridging film in the trilogy, but does a remarkable job in holding its own as a movie, while continuing the story and preparing the way for the final instalment. I'll be there, you'll hear me in the front every time an Orc gets his comeuppance: "Now that's what I'm TOLKIEN about!"
