Since this doesn't come out anywhere until after the print deadline, I can't give you any kind of honest plot outline or evaluation, beyond that Peter Parker (Maguire) gets into the red suit and swings around doing battle with the cyborg cephalopod Doctor Otto Octavius, aka Doc Ock(Molina). Also hanging over from the first film is the continuing unresolved sexual tension with Mary Jane Watson (Dunst) and the suspicions of his recently orphaned roommate, Harry Osborne (Franco), who's carrying a grudge after his dad got killed while battling Spider-man at the end of the last film. Where will all this lead? Well, nobody can tell me, but I'm betting somewhere pretty darn thrilling.

Certainly the trailer looks impressive (particularly the shots of Spidey swinging through a subway car), and the casting of Molina suggests that decisions have been made based on who's a good actor rather than who's big box office. Hopefully both these mean we're getting one of the good kind of sequels, that deepen and broaden the original, rather than the bad kind that just rehash it. Most of the ingredients seem pretty good, but the proof of the pudding is, as always, in the eating. So come along and give it a taste test.
