The Corporation consisted of two and a half hours of very emotive footage on how, we the average Jo(e) Bloggs of the world, get screwed by people in power. While the focus was on corrupt corporations, to me, corporations represented a metaphor for 'corrupt institutions'. In fact, there were perceivable references to other institutions such as government and the justice system and these were as capable of stripping society and individuals of integrity and honour as any corporation. Indeed, this film is all about treading the moral high ground.
The film had an adequate dose of humour to help swallow the stark and shocking reality that Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott were clearly on a mission to unveil. I have to confess to being completely sucked in by the film. I didn't notice the time pass which is the biggest compliment I can pay a film-maker who has dared to make a film this long. The references were all current, the range of issues stimulating, the anecdotes compelling and the ultimate message clear as day! So if you want to know a little bit about the world you really live in, I consider it a must see!
