Jamie Foxx is a big name this year ((ETH)) doing particularly well in this year's Oscars and scoring one for this movie. He certainly performs in Ray, as the title character, Ray Charles. Directed by the same guy who directed La Bamba (Taylor Hackford), Ray is the story of Ray Charles. Foxx becomes Ray in his performance ((ETH)) watching the movie, you believe you are watching Charles and forget it's actually a movie ((ETH)) pretty amazing stuff.
Ray seems to go for longer than it really does ((ETH)) some people love that about the film and others have criticised it. For me, I found it a little slow, but still enjoyable. I think it depends on the viewer.
The film covers two decades of Ray's life and has an incredible soundtrack. If nothing else, see it for Foxx's Oscar winning performance and the soundtrack ((ETH)) I would definitely recommend it for that.
