Sahara is an adaptation of one of the popular Clive Cussler novels. McConaughey stars as Dirk Pitt, the former Navy Seal salvage diver. McConaughey's Pitt is a brash, rash go getter so you can imagine how well he fits into this light action flick. He his perfectly offset by Zahn as Pitt's chum Al Giordino. For my money Zahn steals a lot of the movie, he really hits the mark with his character. Cruz is the love interest as Eva Rojas who is a World Health Organisation Doctor who finds a ghastly disease spreading through Africa. They are all backed up by Admiral Sandecker (Macy) who looks after his salvage divers with a well delivered crusty, sea worn character.
As for the story, Pitt has been obsessed with a gold laden American Civil War ironside which apparently wound up in Africa. He discovers a clue to its whereabouts so he and Al head off on an adventure. Eva tags along trying to find out about the illness striking down so many of the patients she tends to. Throw in a couple of baddies looking to stop them for various reasons, some explosions and chase scenes and that's pretty much the shebang. It's probably not the one movie you'll remember from this semester, but it'd be one you'd be sad you missed.

Napoleon Dynamite lives in a small town in western USA. He likes ligers. His brother Kip is in a pretty serious relationship. He talks to his girlfriend for almost two hours every day, online. Uncle Rico is staying with them while grandma goes on a road trip with her new boyfriend. Uncle Rico is pretty tough and a ladies man. He's got a sweet new business. Napoleon's friend Pedro is going to be class president. He's the only kid at school who can grow a real moustache. Sometimes Napoleon and Pedro hang out with Deb. She makes jewellery and will be a really famous designer one day.
Napoleon Dynamite is The Breakfast Club for a new generation - it's certainly a different movie but it tackles the same sort of issues. While the Breakfast Club was a straight up dramedy, Napoleon Dynamite is an abstract comedy about freaks and geeks growing up in small town USA. I use the term abstract because the movie is really a bunch of related sketches that intertwine to tell a story. Each sketch would be funny if taken out of context, but together they add up to something hilarious.
Make sure you stay to the end of the credits!
