It's been some time since Kat (Messing) was dumped by her fianc((eacute)), Jeff. Now she has to go to London to attend her sister's wedding, where she will come face to face with her ex, who is the best man. Desperate to not appear tragically single she hires Nick (Mulroney), a suave, smart and sexy male escort, to pose as her current boyfriend (six grand for the weekend, not including sex). Kat manages to impress her family and friends with the hottie she has brought to the wedding but the real test is whether she can make Jeff jealous. She doesn't want him back, she just wants him to regret his decision. As the events unfold, Nick provides "love" and support to Kat in perfect boyfriend style. Who says money can't buy happiness!
This is a nice light romantic comedy that gives you the warm and fuzzies, which is what's to be expected from a romantic comedy. Debra Messing manages to get away from the traits that make her so annoying in "Will and Grace" (perhaps it was Will) and shows she can be likable. Dermot Mulroney is the perfect leading man. He's not drop dead gorgeous but he is cute in so many ways.
