Ahh, Herbie. Coolest of the super cars. Ok, points to the Batmobile for gadgets, but no personality. As for Nightrider-.let's not even think about. Anyone who remembers the original movies or the TV series knows what Herbie is all about - he's fun, he's cheeky, and he's a total dreamcar. Herbie the Lovebug has been given a new look and a new life for the new millennium, with Lindsay Lohan as Maggie, the star/sidekick of the movie. It's a pretty standard Disney plot, girl and car meet up and their adventures lead to success and happiness. It's done nicely enough, but don't get your hopes up for anything deep, meaningful or complex in this one. There's some great animation, and fans of the original will love to see Herbie back in full glory. It's a fun, unchallenging movie, which might send you home with a strange urge to buy a Volkswagen.
