In the streets of 1930s Shanghai, the aptly named "Axe Gang" (because they all carry...um...axes) rules the streets of the city. The Axe Gang cut a bloody trail to the top of the underworld, executing all that have stood in their way and seem to be an unstoppable force. Until they meet the occupants of Pig Sty Alley where, through this confrontation, the true nature of Pig Sty's inhabitants come to life. Three retired Kung Fu masters (Donut, Tailor and Coolie) may not be young but they are willing to defend their homes against the evil street gang.
There's also Sing (Chow) who is a good guy conman in with the wrong crowd (I'll give you a hint, they're carrying axes). He also has a secret that will become very important in the coming times.
This is a fantastic 90 minutes of non-stop slapstick comedy with super kung fu action. Mixing laugh out loud moments with moments of truly beautiful scenes to crazy special effects, Kung Fu Hustle blends everything together and comes out looking fantastic. If you ever wanted to see a good movie, then this might be the one you were looking for.
