Ethan Hunt (Cruise) is a man no longer on a mission. Hes retired from active impossibling and now just trains the up-and-coming impossiblers. He's settled down with a beautiful wife and is ready to live out the rest of his quiet life. But can you ever really leave it behind?Well of course not, or this would have been a pretty boring couple of hours. Drawn back into active duty, Hunt and his team must once again battle the bad guy and save the world - this time from international arms dealer and all-round smarmy bad guy Owen Davian (Hoffman). Explosions, gadgets, twists and...more explosions ensue.M:I III is easily the best film in the series to date. His work on 'Alias' clearly taught 'Lost' creator Abrams how to direct action, and he uses all his skills to create a series of gripping action sequences. Cruise is extremely good in the lead, and Oscar-winner Hoffman is a delicious villain. There are some great comedy tidbits thrown in (Simon Pegg is hilarious) and enough twists to keep things interesting without the confusion of the original. This is an action movie with all the trimmings and it's a hell of a ride that doesn't let up. But remember this: whatever you may think of Tom Cruise, we have no proof that Ethan Hunt is a Scientologist, so leave that at the door when you go in and you'll have a ball.
