Can one person truly alter their style and appearance? Andrea (Hathaway) certainly does in "The Devil Wears Prada". Following her dream to become a journalist, Andrea works for Runway magazine as assistant to editor in chief, Miranda (Streep). Miranda makes life a living hell for Andrea, and looks upon her with distaste. Nigel (Tucci) and Andrea set out to change Andreas style from drab to diva, as Andrea puts her heart and soul into her job, for a boss who cannot be pleased. In doing so, Andrea's relationships with family, friends and her boyfriend begin to suffer. Is it really worth giving it all up for a career?Oh, how the other half lives! This film conjures up a world of style and fashion with an underlying career story. The clothes, the shoes, the bags - it's all amazing. The book was lovely, but the film brings all the fashionable brands to life. I loved this movie. It was cute, fun, and made me want to go shopping! I realise I sound very shallow as I write this, so I will close by saying that Streep's performance was excellent, and worth seeing. Fashionistas (and wannabes) will want to see this film to witness the clothes; others should see the film for Streep's performance alone! '

The plot outline as penned by those film buffs at the Internet Movie Database reads: "Three ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater set up their former lover to fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken." So I ask myself, why spend paragraphs telling you what the movie is about when that one sentence tells you everything? Well, to convince you to see it at the Film Group of course! This may be your average teen-revenge film, but the acting is not terrible with Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives) heading up the cast as the unlucky guy. I really enjoyed the film. Just the facial expressions of the girls alone made me laugh - and in a way that worked to the films advantage. Some of the revenge tactics were very mean and I doubt half of it would have worked. But if you've ever been cheated on, then you will find this movie a lot of fun. Just picture that certain someone as John Tucker and the film will definitely put a smile on your face! This film has received some criticism, but it is what it is, and if you go in with the right expectations you will come out pleasantly surprised.'
