Over recent years, fast food consumption has been a subject of much controversy - from films, to media and advertising; everyone is getting involved in the debate. This film is a drama, unlike recent documentaries about fast food. Interestingly, however, its a fiction film based on a non-fiction book (the book carries the same title, by Eric Schlosser). With a celebrity cast and strong characters throughout, the film surprisingly manages to turn a serious topic into an interesting story line. Mickey's Burgers is having some problems, with health risks linked to their burgers. Marketing Manager Don (Greg Kinnear) attempts to discover the problem with the burgers, while staff member Amber (Ashley Johnson) transforms her attitude towards selling fast food throughout the movie. I enjoyed the movie overall. While I found it slow in parts, there was definitely a story throughout!I suggest you don't bring a burger to eat during this screening... both the book and film have reportedly turned some people vegetarian. As a vegetarian myself, I can't comment on whether it will have that effect on your meat consumption - at the very least, it will give you food for thought (pun intended). '
