50 years from now, the sun is dying. Its death marks certain death for planet Earth and its population. A mission is mounted to deliver a large nuclear blast to the suns surface, but it fails miserably. Seven years later another mission is launched to try re-igniting the sun, and with it Earth's final hope for survival.Sunshine reunites writer Alex Garland with director Danny Boyle, who previously collaborated on 28 Days Later. With them comes a first rate cast from around the globe (making for a far more plausible "Earth's last hope" mission than the US saving the day yet again!) including Rose Byrne, Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh, Chris Curtis, Chris Evans and Hiroyuki Sanada. It promises to be a thinking person's science fiction movie in much the same way that 28 Days Later was a zombie movie with brains, something that should be welcomed with open arms in an era when effects typically take precedent over quality story.'

Tell me that the title alone doesnt instantly put Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger' in your head!It has been more than 15 years since the film world last caught up with Rocky and a lot has changed. He is back living in the skids of Philadelphia, having long left behind his glory days and any money that came with them. He has long been a widower and spends his days running a small restaurant named "Adrian's". Rocky's love of boxing is re-awakened when his brother in law shows him a recent ESPN special, a virtual match between Rocky in his prime and the current heavyweight champion Mason Dixon. The virtual Rocky wins this bout, and sparks a firestorm that the champ is fighting second-rate contenders so that he can keep the belt. As Rocky prepares to start boxing again at a local, fairly social, level, word reaches the current champ, who challenges Rocky in an attempt to negate the bad press he has been getting. Let the comeback begin!Laugh if you will that Sly Stallone has managed to roll out yet another Rocky movie. After the last few, and his career choices over the last decade, you would have every reason to. What has come as a shock to many is just how good Rocky Balboa actually is. Sure it falls back on the whole inspirational sports movie concept a little, but it also manages to paint both an emotional and plausible picture of a man getting by on what little he has, only to be offered an unexpected chance to do what he loves. Leave your doubts at the door and you will be in for the surprise of the year.'
