The big green ogre is back, along with Donkey, Puss in Boots and every other fairy tale character you could think of. In this instalment, Shreks father-in-law King Harold is dying. Shrek is looked to as the next King of Far Far Away. Not wanting to give up his current way of life Shrek heads on an adventure with Donkey and Puss in Boots to track down the only other heir to the throne and convince him to take on the job. Prince Charming, on the other hand, has his own plans to become King. So he rounds up all the fairy tale villains and invites them to join his army of rebels. While Shrek is out on his adventure it is up to Fiona and her group of girls to fend off the revolution.
While it is common for follow-up movies to not live up to the original, this is not the case here. Once again we see a clever story line, witty dialogue and lots of adult humour mixed in. If you liked the previous two movies then you are likely to enjoy this one. I'll leave it for other people to debate whether it's as good as the others but without a doubt it does justice to expectations and completes a fine and very humorous trilogy.
