It's cold; it's heading into the Arctic winter, with 24 hours per day of no sun. Sensible people have already left town to spend the winter in gentler climes. Those left behind including those who managed to miss the last plane out are in for an interesting time in the bitter cold and dark of an Alaskan winter (conditions made worse by the obligatory snowstorm), as a stranger comes to town. The strange visitor turns out to be the vanguard for a host of others vampires and things very quickly turn very nasty for the people trapped in their isolated snowbound township.
Is this film just another horror/monster movie? Or is it an archetypical good versus evil parable? You'll just have to come and see the film and make up your own mind. Should you be influenced by these things, David and Margaret both gave it 3_ stars high praise indeed, especially from David, who normally dislikes films of this nature. Oh, and for those who love the New Zealand countryside, the film was shot in NZ (although as it's dark for most of the film you may not get to see as much of the countryside as you would like).
