The poster was enough to pique my interest. "How often do you find the right person?" Then a friend recommended it. Not soon after I saw it, I heard about it everywhere. This low budget film was attracting rave-reviews.It's such a simple film. So simple, in fact, that the lead character doesn't even have a name. Irish Guy (Hansard) is busking in the streets in Dublin when Czech Girl (Irglov((aacute))) stumbles by. She is instantly impressed by him and tries to develop a friendship, but he appears reluctant. It is their combined love of music that brings them together. The music is perhaps the most beautiful part of this film, and I rushed out to buy the soundtrack. However, it was the simplicity of the friendship and the potential of love that made it an incredibly romantic and moving film for me. I came out of the cinema completely besotted with Hansard and the music of both Hansard and Irglov((aacute)).A word of warning - I loved this film, but it disappointed a few friends and family members, despite the fact they enjoyed the music. On the other hand, it's so completely different from most films that I highly recommend checking it out. Like me, you may just fall in love with this little gem!
