The film group committee, in their wisdom they say,
Gives you something to do on a lovely Sunday,
"Dr. Seuss!" they all said, "CGI, like Ice Age:
The kiddies can watch without turning a page."
So in the middle of May, in the jungle of Nool,
In the heat of the day, in the cool of the pool,
He was splashing about, with no one nearby,
When Horton the elephant heard a small cry.
Horton stopped splashing. He looked all around,
But he could see no one, who was making that sound,
Just a small speck of dust blowing past through the air,
It was so very small, people couldn't live there!
But Horton was wrong - he had things to learn still;
'Cause inside lived the Whos, in the town of Whoville;
They had houses, and ceilings and walls, doors and floors,
And churches and schools... even grocery stores.
The film's about Horton's attempts to protect,
The Whos from all enemies he could detect,
Horton helped out the folks on the dust speck no end...
And they all came to think he was a very fine friend.
Carrey is Horton, and Carell is the mayor,
So don't miss a moment, you just wouldn't dare,
It's the wonderful tale that sets this apart,
It's for adults... and children... and children-at-heart.
