Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan star as a pair of private investigators in a rough part of Boston. The two are hired by the family of a missing four-year-old girl because of their ability to get people to talk who otherwise would never open up. As they navigate through the fog of pimps and drug dealers they uncover an ever-expanding mystery about the girl's disappearance. To tell you any more would spoil the film as it is one of those movies in which the less you know about the plot going in, the richer the experience. That said, the story is complex and there's a lot going on, so be prepared.

Gone Baby Gone is Ben Affleck's directorial debut, and no matter what you may think of his acting, critics have given him the thumbs up for this film. The cast is impressive, and the acting matches the calibre of the actors ((ndash)) including Casey Affleck, who wasn't just chosen for "who he knows"!

"Gone Baby Gone" is the fourth book in Dennis Lehane's (Mystic River) series of novels involving the recurring characters of Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. However, the film assumes that we haven't read the novels and approaches Pat and Angie head on, surrounding them with a gallery of very, very intriguing characters. The result is a superior film containing issues to argue about over dinner.

This is a documentary that is visually stunning and has won eight awards. In 2007 it won the Audience award and Best Feature Award at the Gen Art Film Festival. It also won the Documentary category (Team Award) at the 2007 Directors Guild of Canada. It goes to the most shark-rich waters of the world, including the marine reserves of Cocos Island, Costa Rica, and the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. It also shows shark poachers in Guatemala and gunboat chases. Sharks have gone from predator to prey due to humans, and unless something is done soon they could become extinct. This is especially poignant considering all the species mankind has already wiped out, and those presently on the endangered list. This movie also highlights the extent of what humans will do for money.
