Bedtime Stories is a family comedy about hotel maintenance guy Skeeter Bronson, who babysits his impossibly cute niece Bobbi and nephew Patrick for his uptight sister Wendy. He shares his duties with Wendy's co-teacher/friend Jill, taking on the night shift, which is when he discovers that the stories he tells them come true the next day. Skeeter uses his new discovery to his advantage when he decides to create a happier ending for his own life.

Bedtime Stories is no bedtime story; instead I found it witty, energising and fully enjoyable! There are quite a few laughs (the clean-family-fun type) and some fancy CGI work, although not the kind you'll remember afterwards. This film is extremely kid-friendly (I think I've mentioned that umpteen times), but it is an enjoyable ride for adults too. Bedtime Stories doesn't try to be more than it is, and has a fuzzy warm feeling for its ending that you would expect from a Disney film. And seriously, who doesn't want their bedtime stories to come true?!

Personally I'm hoping that when I wake up tomorrow everything will be made of chocolate and I will be a ninja who kicks butt and chews bubblegum.

Obviously this is the third instalment of the pre-teen cultural phenomenon that is High School Musical, and it is the first to be released in cinemas. For those who haven't been following along, there's; Troy Bolton the school basketball champ who secretly wants to sing and dance; his sweet and squeaky clean girlfriend Gabriella; Troy's best bud Chad who never wants high school to end; and the evil Sharpay who wants to steal Gabriella's part in the school play. It's now senior year, colleges beckon, and the final musical approaches.

First things first. The script is horrendous. I laughed out loud at some of the cheesy dialogue; however, the dance numbers were excellently choreographed and most of the songs are catchy and fun to listen to. Sure it's doubtful any of the actors are going to be future Oscar winners, but that's not what HSM is about! HSM ((ndash)) see I'm so down with it that I'm using the lingo!

HSM is designed to be extroverted, flamboyant and entertaining (Hmm... I may have just described a drag queen here, but I think you get my point!), and it does all that, so consider it a guilty pleasure and get ready for some toe tapping.
