At the height of the Cold War in 1963, a mysterious criminal organisation plans to proliferate nuclear weapons and technology to upset the already-fragile balance of power between the United States and the Soviet Union.
CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Hammer) are forced to put aside their hostilities to participate in a joint mission to stop the evildoers in their tracks. Their only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist, whom they must find soon in order to prevent a global catastrophe.
As fun as it is funny, exciting as it is engaging, and with more than the usual share of car chases, fights, fancy technology and sexy women, this big-screen adaptation of the ‘60s TV series of the same name has it all.
Directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) – and starring a super-suave cast including the Man of Steel himself Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant – The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a thrilling cross between James Bond, Jack Ryan and The Saint with a touch of the stylish irreverence of Kingsman.
