Everyone’s favourite actor from “The Walking Dead”, Norman Reedus, teams up with Aaron Paul from “Breaking Bad” to play total bad-asses in an epic heist film. Oh, and Woody Harrelson’s here too. Need I say more?
Australian director John Hillcoat, master of the outlaw/underdog in such films as The Road and Lawless, brings us this dark and edgy crime thriller, set in Atlanta where the cops are corrupt and the Russian mob rules.
Triple 9 follows a frantic group of criminals and corrupt cops who are being blackmailed by the Russian mob for their lives. The only way to deal with the mafia once and for all is to pull off a near impossible heist. The group hatch a desperate and drastic plan: to distract all of the cops in the city with 999 call – police code for an officer down – while they pull off the job. But when a rookie cop (Affleck) inadvertently turns their plan upside down, all hell breaks loose – and before long, greed and revenge has become the name of the game.
Triple 9 is intense and action-packed, and is heightened by its impressive ensemble cast, including Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Kate Winslet, Gal Gadot and of course, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus and Woody Harrelson. This film is epic in every way: with an epic cast, an epic heist, and epic action. It is dark, fast and will have you on the edge of your seat.
