After yet another international incident involving The Avengers results in collateral damage, the leaders of the world decide to form a system of accountability by passing an act to regulate superhuman activity. The new status quo fractures the team into two opposing factions, with Captain America (Evans) on one side and Avenger-turned-friend-turned-foe Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), aka Iron Man, on the other.
Still having trust issues after revelations that his last employer, S.H.I.E.L.D., turned out to be evil, Cap must also contend with the fact that his long-lost childhood friend Bucky Barnes (Stan) – the amnesiac assassin otherwise known as the Winter Soldier – is also caught up in the ensuing political fallout.
Forced to take sides, the remaining Avengers and their allies – from Black Widow to Hawkeye, Falcon, Vision, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man and more – are left with little choice but to fight to survive in what eventually becomes an all-out war. Regardless of who wins, you can be sure of one thing: nothing is ever going to be the same after this.
Captain America: Civil War is the grown-up cinematic equivalent of taking your ‘good’ toys and turning them against each other when you were a kid. Remember that? Yes, it’s that awesome. Featuring many familiar faces from the past twelve films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – including some new ones, one of whom may or may not be able to do whatever a spider can – this is THE superhero film of the year. Better luck next time, Batman/Superman!

A heart-stopping disaster drama, The Finest Hours is based on the remarkable true story that is now widely regarded as the greatest and most daring rescue mission in US Coast guard history.
On February 18th, 1952, two oil tankers, including the SS Pendleton, are caught in the deadly path of a massive storm at the south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. With their ship ripped in half by the storm, the remaining thirty or so survivors at the stern have only mere hours before the vessel will sink. First assistant engineer Ray Sybert (Affleck) soon realises the need to inspire his petrified men to work together as a team in order to survive.
Meanwhile, when news reaches the US Coast Guard station nearby, a team of four men, led by Coast Guard Captain Bernie Webber (Pine), are ordered to rescue the stranded crew. Poorly equipped with only a wooden motor lifeboat and minimal navigation tools – and facing the extreme winter cold, hurricane-force winds and colossal waves – they set out on a rescue mission that could not possibly be more dangerous and life threatening for all involved.
This is quite possibly Australian director Craig Gillespie’s most ambitious work to date. With an excellent cast, incredible special effects and gripping action, The Finest Hours is another Disney adventure spectacular on an epic scale.
