Sadly, all good things must come to an end and Pitch Perfect 3 is no exception to this rule.
Instead of having the awesome jobs and amazing lives they expected, the former Barden Bellas find their attempts at adulthood despondent. Quarter-life crisis, anyone? Things start to look up when the team is given an opportunity to get back together for one last tour on the road: they are invited to perform for USO troops in Europe, at an event hosted by none other than music mega-producer DJ Khaled himself.
But of course, what would a Pitch Perfect film be without some competition? Australia’s Ruby Rose heads up the opposition, reminding the Bellas of the reality of the real world performers (and by that I mean musicians with instruments). And that’s not even mentioning the side plot of Fat Amy (Wilson) and her long lost Australian gangster father (Lithgow).
For its final encore, Pitch Perfect 3 strays from the formula of the first two instalments – but not by too much. It still has enjoyable performances and a fun cast that always show us a great time.
Let’s a ca-finish this!!

Girls Trip tells the story of four close friends who reunite after several years apart to spend a fun-filled weekend in New Orleans.
Whilst the main reason for the trip is to support the career woman of the group, Ryan (Hall), in her work engagement at the Essence Music Festival, the weekend soon turns into an attempt for the foursome to relive their college days and fit in as much drinking and dancing as they can before returning home. Joining Ryan on her adventures is Lisa (Pinkett Smith), a timid, single mother; the fun, self-assured, Sasha (Latifah) who runs a gossip site; and Dina (Haddish, in her breakout film role), the most headstrong and outrageous of the group.
Despite drawing comparisons to a female version of The Hangover, Girls Trip has become one of the most successful films in history featuring an all African-American main cast and crew. It was even named one of Time Magazine’s Top Ten films of 2017, an accolade which is well-deserved: this is a fearlessly funny film, and even had me covering my mouth in shock in some scenes.
An energetic, uplifting comedy about true lifelong friendship, Girls Trip should not be missed.
