Real life husband and wife John Krasinski (straight man Jim in the US version of "The Office") and Emily Blunt (Sicario, Edge of Tomorrow) take a break from glitzy Hollywood married life to play a married couple with a less enviable existence: living on a remote farm with their children in complete silence. Not just using sign language to communicate but covering every surface with soft coverings to avoid the slightest clink or tap.

The punishment for making a sound? Death at the hands (or claws) of an unseen force with supernatural hearing.

Silence is not just the primary theme here but also used in a powerful way – it is hard not to join the family in their fear of making a sound yourself. With the absence of the normal cacophony of dialogue, foley work and background music we’re used to hearing in a cinema, you can’t help but feel uneasy, which draws us all the more into the world on screen. Definitely worth a viewing for those interested in a rare, original take on the horror genre. But leave your noisy chip packets and crunchy chocolates at the door…

** THIS FILM REPLACES THE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED 'CLOVERFIELD 3' **

In 1965, young Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow) and her struggling actor husband Guy (John Cassavetes) move into a New York City apartment building. Undeterred by the building's ominous reputation and their odd next-door neighbours – Roman and Minnie Castavet (Sidney Blackmer and Ruth Gordon) – the couple decide to make a life for themselves in their new abode.

When Rosemary becomes pregnant, however, she begins to find herself increasingly isolated from the world and her circle of friends, which enfolds her in a shroud of suspicion and mental agony. Is there truly well-planned and sinister conspiracy at play, or is she simply being paranoid?
