Facing foreclosure on his business and hoping to make amends with his estranged family, 90-year-old horticulturalist Earl Stone (Clint Eastwood) becomes a drug mule for one of Mexico’s biggest cartels. The job is easy – after all, who would think to suspect a senior citizen? Before long, he is tasked with making larger and more frequent deliveries, which soon draws the attention of a team of U.S. DEA agents (led by Bradley Cooper).
At 88 years of age, Clint Eastwood still somehow manages to direct one or two solid films a year. This terrific true story is a rare treat that sees him back in front of the camera for the first time since 2012.
