In 2015, a 76-year-old retired thief (Michael Caine) pulls together a crew for a daring heist at the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit in London’s jewellery district. Using old school techniques, the thieves escape with over £200 million worth of stolen jewels and cash in what ends up becoming the biggest burglary in British history.
What starts off as a nostalgic last hurrah for these elderly career criminals soon becomes a nightmare, however, as the men become increasingly greedy and distrustful of each other.
Featuring a stellar roster of British screen legends – including Caine, Jim Broadbent, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay and Ray Winstone – King of Thieves is an old school thriller that isn’t afraid to get dark.
