PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF PALESTINE
Sarah (Sivane Kretchner) is an Israeli café owner in West Jerusalem, and Saleem (Adeeb Safadi) is a Palestinian delivery man from East Jerusalem. Each feel trapped in their marriages – she to an Israeli army colonel (Ishai Golan) and he to the pregnant Bisan (Maisa Abd Elhadi).
Despite the social and political gulf between their communities, Sarah and Saleem are drawn into a risky affair. After being spotted leaving one of their clandestine trysts, they find themselves dealing with more than just angry spouses.
Combining elements of interpersonal drama and political thriller, Palestinian director Muayad Alayan’s film is also a tense and searing study of the differences in power and privilege between the inhabitants of East and West Jerusalem.
