At age thirteen, Theo Decker witnessed his mother’s death in a bomb blast at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, and in the confusion grabbed a priceless painting titled The Goldfinch. It’s a moment that launches him on a poignant odyssey of grief, guilt, reinvention and redemption. In a life where he defines moments as either ‘before’ or ‘after’ that fateful day, The Goldfinch remains in the middle.
Based on Donna Tartt's 2014 Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name, the film stars Oakes Fegley (Pete’s Dragon) as young Theo and Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver) as the adult Theo, alongside a supporting cast including Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, Jeffrey Wright, and Nicole Kidman.
