Claire Millaud (Juliette Binoche), a 50-year-old divorced teacher, creates a fake Facebook profile to test her lover Ludo (Guillaume Gouix). Posing as pretty 24-year-old 'Clara', she befriends Ludo’s friend Alex (Francois Civil) so that Ludo will accept her friend request. As her fake friendship with Alex develops into a genuine online love affair, she finds the line between lies and reality starts to blur. Is she really lying if she finds herself in who he thinks she is?
This French drama directed and co-written by Safy Nebbou is both an intriguing character study and topical examination of how people forge connections and identities through social media.

On the first day of summer, in the small French village of Verderonne, the reclusive Claire Darling (Catherine Deneuve) wakes up convinced that her death is imminent. She then decides to sell the entire contents of her house in giant garage sale. Everything must go, and along with it the memories that haunt her. However, news of the sale causes one ghost from her past to return: the daughter that she hasn’t seen for twenty years (played by Deneuve’s actual daughter Chiara Mastroianni).
Claire Darling is French director Julie Bertuccelli’s highly atmospheric adaptation of American author Lynda Rutledge's novel “Faith Bass Darling’s Last Garage Sale”.
