Embattled detective Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman) gets a chance at redemption when the NYPD is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers. As the search intensifies, authorities take unprecedented measures to prevent the perpetrators from escaping by putting the entire island of Manhattan on lockdown, closing all of its 21 bridges. As the night unfolds, however, Davis begins to suspect that there is more to the manhunt that meets the eye: gradually uncovering a wide-reaching conspiracy, the lines between criminal and cop become increasingly blurred.
Also starring J.K. Simmons and Sienna Miller, 21 Bridges is a race-against-the-clock crime thriller – and the first of two New York-set films screening at the ANU Film Group tonight.
