It would have been hard for even George Lucas to imagine the phenomenon that Star Wars would become when A New Hope was released over 43 years ago. And now, The Rise of Skywalker brings the legendary saga to an end with a nostalgia-fuelled, emotionally-gratifying bang.
The fate of the entire galaxy hangs in the balance when the all-powerful Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) β somehow β returns from the dead. Their only hope: Rey (Daisy Ridley) who is finalising her training as a Jedi under the tutelage of General Leia (the late Carrie Fisher, reprising her role through unused footage from the last two films). But itβs not long before she joins Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) on a vital mission to put a stop to the First Order β leading her towards an inevitable confrontation with an increasingly-conflicted Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
