When 17-year-old Autumn (Sidney Flanigan) discovers that she is 10 weeks pregnant, she is confronted by the stark state of affairs in her rural Pennsylvania home town: conservative legislation means that she is unable to get an abortion without parental consent. Confiding in her best friend and cousin Skylar (Talia Ryder) about the unintended pregnancy, the two scrounge together some money and board a bus bound for New York to find the help that Autumn needs.

Written and directed by rising filmmaker Eliza Hittman, this is an intimate portrayal of two teenage girls on a fraught journey of friendship, brave and compassion – offering a tough but tender insight into the controversial obstacles impeding a woman's right to choose in the United States. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 to critical acclaim, the film has gone on to win a bevy of awards, including the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
