** PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF IRELAND **
Pixie (Olivia Cooke) is the step-daughter of a crime boss (Colm Meaney) who longs to start new life away from her small town in west of Ireland. But when her mother is murdered, Pixie sets out on a mission to avenge her death, spotting an opportunity to settle the score when she meets two hapless teenagers who have stumbled upon a bag full of drugs. Soon, the trio find themselves on the run across the wild Irish countryside with a criminal gang of gun-toting priests and nuns hot on their tail.
Like the Irish lovechild of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie, this brilliant and slick gangster comedy is propelled by a mesmerising performance from Olivia Cooke (who can also be seen in this season’s Sound of Metal). And Alec Baldwin also does his best ‘Oirish’ accent as the terrifying head of the gangster priests, just in case you weren’t already sold.
