PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF MEXICO
Young, uptight writer Henry's (Sam Claflin) novel is such a failure that even bookstores in his native England can’t give copies away. So it’s much to his surprise when he discovers that it has become a surprise hit in Mexico after being translated into Spanish.
Before he knows it, Henry is on a plane to Mexico for a promotional tour, where he is paired with the novel’s translator, Maria (Verónica Echegui). There’s just one curveball: unbeknownst to Henry, aspiring author Maria has actually completely rewritten his novel and turned the dull tome into a steamy erotic novel.
Claflin and Echegui make a nimble, savvy pairing in this romantic-comedy that was filmed in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, known for its unique Spanish colonial architecture and hilly terrains.
