When her estranged sister becomes the first victim of a new Ghostface killer, Sam (Melissa Barrera) and her boyfriend Richie (Jack Quaid) head to the quiet town of Woodsboro – where Ghostface first began his rampage 25 years earlier – to seek answers. Aiding them in their effort to stay one step ahead of the masked murderer are the only people that have survived his killing spree: Dewey Riley (David Arquette), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), who all find themselves inexorably drawn back into the fray once again.
This confusingly-titled film is the fifth in the series, and the first not to be directed by Wes Craven following his death in 2015. But it’s better than ever in the hands of incoming directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not), who craft a fast, funny and ferociously clever ‘re-quel’ that we didn’t even know we needed.
