John (James Norton) is a 35-year-old Belfast window cleaner who has dedicated his life to bringing up his four-year-old son, Michael (Daniel Lamont), after the child’s mother left them soon after giving birth. When John is diagnosed with brain cancer and given only a few months left to live, he sets out to find a new family for Michael, determined to shield him from the terrible reality of the situation. But that’s all easier said than done as John quickly realises how difficult it is to find the perfect family to take on this impossible task.
Nowhere Special may sound cloying on paper, but the tremendous and intimate performances of the two leads lends the film a delicate touch and keeps things from getting too sentimental. Though, as you may expect, we recommend you bring along tissues.

The Eyes of Tammy Faye takes an intimate look at the extraordinary life of one-of-a-kind American televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker (Jessica Chastain). Rising from humble beginnings during the 1970s and 80s, Tammy and her husband, Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield) turned evangelism into a lucrative career. Rising through the ranks, they eventually go on to create the world's largest religious broadcasting network and even a Christian theme park.
While some criticised the Bakker’s doctrine of prosperity through faith, Tammy Faye was revered for her message of love and acceptance for people from all walks of life, particularly her support of the LGBT community and HIV patients. But beneath all of the glamour lay scandal, financial improprieties and scheming rivals that threaten to topple their carefully constructed empire.
Jessica Chastain is riveting in her portrayal of the enigmatic, larger-than-life Tammy Faye – and her eyes.
Nominated for two Oscars in 2022, including Best Actress (Chastain).
