PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA
It’s 1991 and the South Korean ambassador to Somalia (Kim Yoon-seok), and his North Korean counterpart (Huh Joon-ho) are both attempting to bribe Somalia’s corrupt President into supporting their countries’ bids to join the United Nations. But it’s not long before civil war has broken out and Somalia’s capital city of Mogadishu becomes a deadly battleground. Against overwhelming odds, the two old rivals and their entourages must put aside their differences and work together in a desperate bid to make it out of Mogadishu alive.
Loosely based on real events, this spectacular Korean thriller has got everything going for it: great action, clever humour, memorable characters and plenty of heart. In fact, as far as blockbusters go, Escape from Mogadishu more than holds its own against most of what Hollywood has been dishing out lately. What more could you want?
